Fred Rogers was born in 1928 and died on February 27, 2003. He was a Presbyterian minister, educator, songwriter, author and television producer best known as the host of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood (1968-2001) for PBS.
Rogers was one of the most famous TV personalities in history. But it's hard to find people who actually watched him when they were kids because he has been off TV since 2001 – but that doesn't mean his message is any less important
